“One of the most courageous things you can do is identify yourself, know who you are, what you believe in and where you want to go.” -Sheila Murray Bethel
Julie, LaDonna, and I had such great talks during her shoot about her journey in finding who she really was, the importance of knowing the power we hold as women, and how good it is for us to be more comfortable in our own sexuality. Spending time with strong, feminist women like those two inspires me so much, and makes shooting boudoir mean way more than just taking photos. We fully agreed that boudoir pairs perfectly with the stage in a woman’s life where she is finally ready to accept herself and acknowledge her sensuality and celebrate it.
Julie also talked to us a bit about what made her get into fitness. She, like almost all of us women, was unhappy with her body, wasn’t confident at all in her own skin, and just got tired of it. She said she hated her legs and never wanted to show them off, so she decided to make a change. When she got into fitness, she fell in love, and it eventually led to doing fitness physique competitions! Ms. J is a total badass and has an absolutely rockin body. She was so much fun to shoot.
