It’s our last Las Vegas blog post! While in Vegas we had an extra day to go shoot and explore in the desert, so LaDonna (Paskey Boudoir’s Makeup Artist) recruited her friend to model for me! We had a blast shooting some outdoor desert boudoir together.
Yes, it has been 2 months since we got back from our annual Las Vegas trip, but when client photoshoots always take first priority, sometimes model shoots get put on the back burner! I’m so glad LaDonna and her friend Ms. S were so patient with me waiting to get the photos back.
Outdoor Desert Boudoir
That day, they started in hair and makeup at about 6am so we could get a good start on the day and have good light to shoot with. Little did we know we would be driving for hours exploring and trying to find good places to take photos without getting caught by park rangers or being seen in lingerie by drivers near by. It was an absolutely gorgeous drive though and made for an even better day than we expected. In the first area, we were at a high elevation and it was snowing for quite a while! I never expected to be snowed on in the desert! Ms. S was shivering but wanted to do anything it took to get the best shots. She was such a trooper!
Then we drove on a little further and found an absolutely heavenly little area with total privacy, gorgeous rocks and trees, and a background to die for. The purple and red mountains with low hanging clouds was so beautiful. LaDonna jumped in for some of these photos and wore a bodysuit from the closet that perfectly suited her style and haircut. I wanted Ms. S to wear this champagne sheer slip to give us a natural, ethereal vibe. They’re total desert gypsy goddesses!
This day was so cool and I’m so thrilled with the way the photos turned out. I don’t get to shoot in settings like this very often so when I do, I like to make it count!
Thank you Ms. S and LaDonna for such an amazing day!
